Yesterday I hopped on a Greyhound and headed up to Troy, NY to spend a few days on the Believers Never Die Tour. To say I was stoked to go on tour with so many amazing bands would not do justice. I’ll be spending the week on the bus of my good friends Hey Monday. The band was gracious enough to allow me to stay with them. One of the Cobra crew guys Spencer (to my discouragement) gave up his bunk for a few days and jumped on the Cobra bus. He’s the man, I owe him for sure.
Before the show everyone was just hanging out. There was a track and field behind the venue so Andy from FOB, Jack from All Time Low, Alex from Hey Monday and a few others put together a pick-up touch football game under the lights. For dinner, I got to experience my first night of catering and it did not let me down. Ribs, Talapia, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Corn made me feel like summer was already here. The show itself was great. The venue was packed and ready to go as Hey Monday came on stage. They kept their enthusiasm going throughout the show and until Fall Out Boy walked off stage.
My first night sleeping in a bunk was definitely an experience. You would think that it would be difficult to sleep while the bus is moving but I actually had more trouble sleeping when we were sitting still. Between the hum of the diesel engine and the constant rocking back-and-forth, it put me right to sleep. It was weird to wake up this morning in complete darkness with absolutely no idea where I am or what time it was. It’s actually a very invigorating feeling. You have no idea where you are or what time it is, but it doesn’t matter at all. You’re just there. Very cool feeling.
Tonight we’re back in New York City for the day off so I’m going to be in the office for most the day getting some work done then Patrick is having his birthday party tonight so going there then back to NJ for a 3am bus call. I’m going to be on tour all week so keep checking back for more behind-the-scenes updates!

Four Year Strong’s debut release is a breath of fresh air in a scene that has become stale throughout the years. “Bada Bing! Wit’ a Pipe!” and “Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die” have quickly become anthems for a new generation by perfectly meshing hardcore and pop-punk elements.
